Trenton Time Capsule 2026
The City of Trenton is preparing a time capsule for burial and YOU can be part of it!
The City of Trenton is thrilled to announce the creation and "burial" of a time capsule, a unique project aimed at capturing the essence of our community for future residents.
The capsule will be sealed on July 8th, 2026, as part of the nation's Semiquincentennial Celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It will be buried at a still-to-be-determined location later this year. It's scheduled to be opened in 2084, when Trenton celebrates its own 250th anniversary in honor of its founding, known then as Truaxton.
We are inviting YOU to participate! Whether you are an individual, family, or business- you can fill out Memory Page that will be included in the time capsule!
You can fill out the Memory Page online and email it to tpubliclibrary@trenton-mi.com along with any images you would like to include. If you are not able to use the fillable form online, you are welcome to print out the form and turn it in at the Trenton Veterans Memorial Library at 2790 Westfield, Trenton, MI 48183.
There is also a station set up at the library where you can fill out a Memory Page!
Memory Pages will be accepted throughout the month of June! We appreciate your help in making this Time Capsule a true reflection of the City of Trenton in 2026!
