Library of Things
What is a Library of Things?
A Library of Things is a collection of non-traditional items that patrons can borrow with their library card. This collection offers access to useful or unique objects for short-term use. This promotes sharing, sustainability, and learning new skills without the cost of ownership.
Guidelines for Borrowing:
- Borrowers must have a valid library card from a library in The Library Network that is in good standing.
- Holds placed on Things must be picked up at the Trenton Veterans Memorial Library. Items that require a Lending Agreement cannot not be placed on hold.
- Things must be checked out and returned to the Trenton Veterans Memorial Library circulation desk, not left in drop boxes.
- A Thing will be returned to the library in the condition that is was borrowed, with all pieces and parts accounted for. If an item requires cleaning, it will be cleaned before being returned.
- Certain items require that a patron be 18+ and fill out a Lending Agreement to borrow that item for both safety and cost purposes.
- Items returned with broken or missing pieces may result in patron being responsible for replacement costs.
